Simeli is a small Dutch company that makes hand crocheted skirt guards.
A skirt guard is a lining partially surrounding the rear wheel of a bicycle to prevent a jacket or skirt from coming into contact with the wheel.
There is no country in the world which pays so much attention to skirt guards as The Netherlands does. Without a skirt guard it's difficult for women in long skirt to ride a bicycle. In this respect the skirt guard may be regarded as a unexpected symbol of women’s emancipation.
