Kids cycle chic

At the recent Ausbike Bike Expo 2010 in Melbourne, for the first time there was a Cycle Fashion show celebrating the best in cycle chic from the exhibitors at the event.

These photos show that cycling in style is not just for adults! How CUTE are these kids??

Why do parent inflict such indignity on their children and why the silly head-ware? That is so sad.

  4. baudman says:

@Kim… err.. it’s the law? For on-road use anyway, so why not start the habit early?

  5. Nicole says:

Baudman agree, teaching children to wear a helmet early is so important not only for road use but also riding in parks and on footpaths. We live in the city and my little guys regularly ride close to traffic – its Sydney – its busy ! Thankfully companies like Treadley are making Helmet Hats to protect their little faces from the sun and make it easier for us to get them to wear !

[...] CycleStyle.com.au, an Australian website dedicated to finding the best in cycle chic clothing and accessories, visited ausbike and spotted Treadley Helmet Hats and Strider PREbikes. See the pictures and read their comments on the CycleStyle Blog. [...]

  7. Our friend’s little nephew was there at Aus Bike Expo last year!!

Agree with baudman and Nicole on the safety aspect of using helmets.

BUT Kim’s comment also resonates with us and we’d rather have our kids wear something much COOLER whilst riding on the streets of Melbourne, something like this type of helmet http://bit.ly/ie137b :)

Great read, nice photos, thanks for the post.

  8. They were so cute. Thanks for sharing
